PUBLIC SPEAKING Is your company experiencing a lot of people taking sick days for mental health reasons? One in 4 people will experience a mental illness at some time in their lives. By 2020 mental illness will be the second leading disease in North America with heart disease coming first. It's time to educate your employees about mental illness and eradicate the stigma. I will come to an education and training session at your business to teach managers and staff how to reduce their chance of getting a mental illness which will lead to more productivity. This education and training session is about one hour long which includes 20 minutes for Q & A. Are you looking for a keynote speaker? I would like to come to your organization and do a motivational talk called "The Seven 'F's' to a Fantastic Life." In it I share with others the seven ingredients I have found are essential to live a happy, fulfilling life. Each topic starts with the letter "F." Can you guess what they are? Two of them are Friends and Fitness. This talk is about 40 minutes long. It evolved out of my struggles with a serious mental illness. I was lacking some of these F's in my life and have found by implementing them on a daily basis my life now has focus, direction and meaning and YOURS CAN TOO! I also do a "Message of Hope" speech in which I talk about Depression & Bipolar Affective Disorder. I am a survivor of this illness and want to share with others that it is possible to live a happy, productive life in spite of a mental illness. I share with the audience the journey I have been on and give them hope for a brighter future. This talk is based on my book. Those who have loved ones with a mental illness and staff members who work in the mental health field would also benefit from this talk. The talk is about 40 minutes long and I encourage questions and answers after I speak. To date I have spoken to both inpatients and outpatients at hospitals and mental health agencies and have expanded to include speaking at universities, Rotary Clubs and conferences.
